Learn self-defense and experience authentic kickboxing and MMA training without sparring, but still feel like a competitive fighter. Fitness Kickboxing program is based on the Fitness Kickboxing Canada ® training principles.

Those who wish to participate in level testing can do so by attending the Fitness Kickboxing Classes, and work through the level system based on the SPICES Kickboxing Program, which is similar to the grading system of martial arts. Testing Dates will be set up outside class times and will be individually based and students will be provided with a manual for the "SPICES Kickboxing" curriculum. Participants may also choose to stream into the SPICES Competitive Kickboxing program after attending the Fitness Kickboxing program for at least 6 months, and must have attended at least one session of the Level 3 class (defensive techniques) to qualify.

Outcomes of the Competitive Program:
Enhance performance fitness including speed, power, reaction time, agility,and flexibility. Improve full body conditioning, anaerobic capacity and cardiovascular level through more advanced training and develop to become an Amateur Kickboxer competing in WAKO Canada Sanctioned events. In the Competitive Kickboxing program athletes must attend at least 2 classes at SPICES Fitness per week, of which at least 1 must be a level 3 class, and will learn both the offensive and defensive techniques and progress to organized sparring sessions inside and outside of class times. If athletes would like to and qualify to train for competitions, they will then commit to training 5 times per week, register as a competitive athlete through WAKO Canada, and will need to complete an annual WAKO kickboxing medical and passport application.

Learn self-defense and experience authentic MMA and kickboxing training without sparring. Reap the benefits of cardiovascular, toning, conditioning and motor enhancement gains while attaining personal fitness goals. Level 1 is designed for beginners to Kickboxing and will include more basic patterns, teach basic technique, and focus on basic fitness components. Level 2 classes include learning more complex techniques and combinations, and include more intense fitness training such as high intensity interval training. Level 3 classes will include defensive training such as blocking, counter punching, and performance fitness training to prepare individuals that would like to train to spar or compete.
Gear: Gear to get you started and a source for ordering personal equipment (gloves, shin guards, shorts). Start-up fee of $20 for Hand wraps.
